European Handbook
I spent a little time searching for a copy of the European Handbook on the Car Club website but to no avail. An email to Paul Plummer revealed that it, or the means to apply for a copy, resides under "events". Having had a misbehaving clutch whilst on a Loire valley tour last month I thought I should be better prepared for any more lack of cooperation in other areas.
I must say that the MGOC spares service was very good, I called late Thursday pm 24-05-12 to ask them to send a clutch slave cylinder repair kit to our hotel in Chinon. It arrived by UPS at noon on Tuesday 29-05-12, Monday was a bank holiday in France and given that Sat and Sun are not working days the turnaround was pretty impressive.

European Handbook
Tony,

Thanks for the heads up on the European Handbook; I didnít even know there was one. I have applied for a copy on line and had an immediate e-mail reply stating that I would receive a link to a PDF copy of the handbook very shortly, that was 3 days ago. Iím still waiting for the link, have you had any luck?

European Handbook
Geoff,
I did exactly the same thing and as I had not received the PDF link I sent an email to Chris Seaward on Friday afternoon to check what was happening as I felt there might be a glitch with the automated system. I will let you know when I have been able to speak with Chris on Monday morning and find out what the current position is.

BTW a NEWS item was posted on the V8 website on 16th June 2010 when I heard that a copy of the new 2010 edition of the Club's popular European Touring Handbook was available for members of the MG Car Club. It is packed with useful information on each country in Europe where there is a local MG Car Club. It's an essential reference book if your are driving in Europe or visiting friends there. If you type "European Handbook" into the V8 website homepage search box the link comes up. I concede that if you missed that NEWS item and did not know the handbook existed then you would not have those key words to hand to make the search!

There is also a link to the European Handbook at the foot of the Rolling V8 Calendar.

European Handbook
Chris Seaward tells me the Club Office email server crashed on the Friday of the MGLive! weekend when the Club Office team were up at Silverstone working hard on finalising the preparations for the weekend meeting. The system was not recovered until Thursday last week by which time there was a substantial backlog to deal with. I received an email from Chris earlier today with a link to a PDF copy of the European Handbook and he says if any member applied for a PDF copy using the online application system on the Club website and has not had a reply, then please do send him an email and he will respond. His email address is: chrisseaward@mgcc.co.uk
