Coventry Hood & Tonneau
For a few days now I have been trying to get in touch with the Coventry Hood & Tonneau Co at Telford on 01952 501177 but the phone just rings out. Does anyone have another number or possibly an email address, or are they away on holiday?

They are away on holiday until the first or second week of September. However they are a wholesale company, so you'd be lucky if they decide to sell to you.

Thanks for the information.I was hoping to call at Telford on the way to the V8 Wales Tour. I am at a loss to understand their status as a wholesale company as I had an email from Angus Munro telling me he had been to Telford to have work done, he also sent me a link to an RV8 note http://www.v8register.net/subpages/RV8NOTE268.htm posted by Mike Lane in which he describes driving from Andover to Telford to have hoods fitted.

Sorry to have to correct you here Gavin but I had the RV8 arm rest, gear box tunnel and radio console covered with beautiful stiched leather by Coventry Hood and Tonneau. I got the idea from Mike Lane when I saw how they had covered the seats to his car and further, several of my chums have had hoods supplied and fitted by CH & T following my experience with them.
Be patient Robert. You will get in contact with them eventualy and you will be very pleased with the result, I am so very certain of that.

Hello, You will find an extremely warm welcome at Coventry Hood. They have supplied & fitted interiors, hoods new frames & even made me bags out of the old material. They know the MG range inside out and backwards, especially the RV8.They indeed do manufacture for retailers, but fortunately not exclusively, so products like the RV8 mats can be purchased direct without the HUGE mark up some MG garages charge. They have designed and made for me out of stayfast the original hood material, a bootbag system for travelling.
If you are having a new hood on your RV8 you may want to consider what I call the 'J Cummings' design which brings the rear window up so when the hood is down, the fold is on the stayfast and not ruining the window. There are also options on fasteners that lock rather than press studs. They have also replaced the plastic in my interior eg. dash/consul with leather. One piece of advice though, don't try the coffee, its crap.
