V8BB down
I clicked into "more" regarding this issue and was staggered to see that the person responsible i.e. the hacker appears to be illiterate!

V8BB down
The NEWS item I posted on the V8 website homepage yesterday evening came from our IT specialist. He had picked up a Fox News report that "a malicious flood of network traffic has knocked Internet registrar GoDaddy’s servers offline taking with it the site, its email, and thousands, potentially millions of websites hosted there including the V8BB." This morning he reports that "the attacker knocked the DNS servers offline rather than the web servers holding the actual websites. As of 0657 BST today everything seems to be operational again."

A report on Wired says "following a day-long Domain Name Service server outage, web hosting provider GoDaddy is letting its competitor, VeriSign, host its DNS servers. On Monday afternoon — about four hours after it was knocked offline — GoDaddy’s administrators made a change to the company’s DNS records, indicating that they were shifting control of the servers from GoDaddy to VeriSign. GoDaddy has not explained the source of its widespread outage which knocked websites and email users offline Monday. “We are experiencing intermittent outages. This is impacting our site and some customers’ sites,” GoDaddy said in a note sent to customers Monday. “The issue started shortly after 10am PDT.” The outage may have been due to a technical glitch, but a hacker named Anonymousown3r claimed responsibility for the outage. It hasn’t been possible to verify this claim." You can see the full report at: http://www.wired.com/wiredenterprise/2012/09/godaddy-moves-to-verisign/
